Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information the Free Sudoku iPhone app (“the app”) handles and why. The app is published by Foxdrobe (“we”, “us”). If you have a question, email support@foxdrobe.com.
The short version
- We don't run servers for the app, and we don't ask for your name, email or an account.
- Your game progress and settings are stored only on your iPhone.
- The app shows ads from Google AdMob. Google collects some data to serve and measure those ads, as described below.
- Your advertising identifier is used only if you allow tracking. In the EU, UK and some US states, Google also asks for your consent to personalised ads.
Information stored on your device
The app saves your puzzles in progress, statistics, streaks, level, awards, theme and settings in the app's own storage on your iPhone. This information is never sent to us. Deleting the app deletes it.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app uses Google AdMob, provided by Google LLC, to show banner, full-screen and optional rewarded video ads. According to Google, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect:
| Data | Examples | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| Device identifiers | Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allow tracking, and app-specific identifiers | Advertising, ad measurement, analytics |
| Approximate location | Estimated from your IP address | Advertising, analytics |
| Ad and app interaction | Ads shown, taps, video views, app launches | Advertising, analytics |
| Diagnostics | Crash logs and performance data such as launch time | Fixing problems, analytics, advertising |
Google's handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You can learn more at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Your choices
- Tracking: after your first win the app asks Apple's “Allow Tracking” question. If you choose “Ask App Not to Track”, ads still appear but aren't personalised with your advertising identifier. You can change this any time in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Consent (EU, UK and where required by law): Google's consent form lets you accept or reject personalised advertising. Reopen it any time in the app under Settings → Privacy choices.
- Rewarded videos are optional: you choose whether to watch one.
Children
The app is a general-audience puzzle game and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. Ads in the app are limited to Google's “parental guidance” content rating.
Data retention and deletion
We don't hold any of your data, so there's nothing for us to delete. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device. To manage or delete data held by Google, visit Google's data & privacy controls or contact Google.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or US state privacy laws), you may have rights to access, delete or object to the processing of your personal data, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” for targeted advertising. Use the consent controls described above, or contact us and we'll help you reach Google where needed.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above.
